Lunar Crescent Captured August 15th

Lunar Crescent – Captured Today Two detailed views of the Moon captured today, showing the delicate crescent phase and the dramatic contrast between light and shadow. The low-angle sunlight along the lunar terminator reveals an incredible amount of surface detail, bringing out craters, ridges, and subtle variations in the terrain. The first image highlights the illuminated eastern edge of the Moon, while the second presents a beautiful crescent arc with the cratered surface clearly visible along the limb. I particularly like how the shadows emphasize the Moon’s three-dimensional appearance. Even with only a small portion of the lunar surface illuminated, there is an enormous amount of detail to explore. A simple lunar capture, but a great reminder of how spectacular our closest celestial neighbor can look through a telescope.
