Super Nova in NGC 7331

NGC 7331, a prominent spiral galaxy in Pegasus, photographed during the appearance of the recently discovered supernova SN 2026aaiv. The primary objective of this observation was not only to image the galaxy, but to document the supernova as a transient point source within NGC 7331. Events like this are a reminder that an astrophotograph can be more than a portrait of a seemingly static universe—it can record a real astrophysical event occurring millions of light-years away. The image preserves the surrounding stellar field and the structure of NGC 7331 while allowing the position of SN 2026aaiv to be identified within its host galaxy.
