NGC 7331 (C30) with SN 2026aaiv

Stretching the Dwarf mini to extremes, this galaxy is tiny in the FOV, with numerous other smudges including the famous Stephan's quintet. NGC 7331 lies ~40 mLY away towards Pegasus and shows an off centre bulge, and a new star - a type 1 supernova SN 2026aaiv discovered on 1 Sept. When I say new, this star of course went supernova over 40 million years ago. Amazing to be able to see this with the mini, and even some colour and detail in Stephan's Quintet almost 350 mLY away. https://app.astrobin.com/i/4eunb5
